Old Fashioned Butter Mints

I love to bake. Cookies, cakes, brownies, whatever. So when I found a recipe for old fashioned butter mints on Pinterest, I knew I had to try it. They came out so well, and the recipe was super easy to follow! You can find it here. Since the recipe is already written out, I figured I'd just show you my pictures. :)

One note if you do make them: I used 1/4 teaspoon mint extract instead of 1/2 teaspoon peppermint and it came out just right. I think 1/2 a teaspoon might be way too strong. What is your favorite dessert to make? Let me know!

Summer

Ahh, summer. Nothing quite like it after a seemingly unending school year, and what a summer it's been already. First trip ever to Texas. First time as a bridesmaid. First summer with a permit, and soon, first with a driver's license. Last summer in high school. Last summer to have to do summer reading. Last summer before turning 18. So many beginnings and endings, firsts and lasts. It may have seemed that this blog ended before it ever really started; after all, I only posted what, twice in 6 months? :) They (whoever this "they" is) say that the secret to good blogging is just to blog about anything and everything, so I'm going to try it. Maybe it will just be silly pictures of my silly dogs, or a recipe, or something else, but it will be something. Promise. :)

The Required First Blog Post

So yes, while this isn't my first blog, I think all blogs should have that first "welcome" blog post. So here it is! And that's it. No, wait, I'm just kidding! :) I'll be using this blog as a place where I can talk about my thoughts, ideas, school happenings... Posting will probably be spotty at best, but I'm working on it.That's it. For real. :)
